Using OpenGL programming in video making
So, who's done it or plans to? I'm taking a course a the moment on computer Graphics centered around OpenGL programming and was figuring i'd use some of what i learn to, at the very least, compose a bumper animation. Anyone have anything cool they've done or any issues they've faced integrating traditional editing with this level of animation?

I made a Blender demo video for a computer graphics class once that involved some GLSL to make a simple toon shader, but that's (A) not OpenGL per se and (B) lost somewhere on my drive.
As far as AMVs go...um, no. Yet, anyway. I've resorted to using scripting languages to get programs to do what I want them to do, which is really productive and powerful when the program you're using has a non-crap scripting language like Python or Ruby, but I've not dragged OpenGL into the mix.
I think Sir Lagsalot has developed at least one custom effect for videos. Whether or not it involves they involve any OpenGL functionality, I don't know.

Yes, several of the effects in my Cloud Connected video were written in c++ and then rendered using OpenGL.trythil wrote: I think Sir Lagsalot has developed at least one custom effect for videos. Whether or not it involves they involve any OpenGL functionality, I don't know.
Lagarith: Best lossless codec ever in my completely objective opinion.
