Burn avi's etc to ISO/DVD

Post by The14thGOD » Sat Feb 17, 2007 2:25 am

Sorry, this is the best place I thought this topic should go.

Anyways, what is the best program to burn say a AVI or other media formats to ISO/DVD?

Nerovision seems to have a lot of problems with getting audio synced up.

Thanks in advance,

I personally use TMPGEnc to reencode the AVI to MPG2, and use either TMPGEnc DVD Author or DVD-Pro Lab 2 to turn the Mpeg 2 into a DVD ISO.

No prob. Oh yeah, also, another possibility as to why your audio might be out of synched. If the audio in the AVI was a VBR, then it'll probably still be out of sync when you use TMPGEnc. To fix that, just use VirtualDubMod and extract the audio into a WAV before you convert it to Mpeg 2.

It is part of Nero AG's (formerly Ahead Software AG) Nero software suite. The current version is Nero 7 Ultra Edition ENHANCED, which can be purchased directly from Nero AG here: http://www.nero.com/enu/Nero_7_Ultra_Ed ... oPage.html

You can also get most of the same program bundled with a DVD writer. Although what gets stripped out may depend on the drive manufacturer. My Sony DRU-720A came with Nero 6 SE which includes: Nero Media Player, Nero OEM (BackItUp, Burning ROM SE, Cover Designer, Express, Wave Editor), Nero Toolkit (CD/DVD Speed, Drive Speed, InfoTool), NeroVision Express 3 (Cover Designer, Recode, ShowTime, NeroVision Express), and Nero SmartStart.

You can also often find Nero on sale at many stores that sell computer software for much less than full retail. Last week CompUSA had it advertised for $39.99 after $60 in 2 mail-in rebates.
