Fixing Visual Defects in Source

Post by l33tmeatwad » Mon Mar 28, 2016 9:16 am

Q: My source video has aliasing/banding/combing artifacts/grain/interlacing/mosquito noise/etc, how do I fix it?

The best method to handle visual artifacts is to use AviSynth or VapourSynth to filter the source. Here are a few guides on filters with visual and script examples:

Improving Visual Quality with AviSynth Filters
Using AviSynth Filters & Functions (Part of AviSynth 101)
Using VapourSynth Filters & Functions (Part of VapourSynth 101)
