Oh, the bitter irony!
While I don't have a concept of 'paradise on earth' or anything, were you to ask me what's the closest thing to that for me - I'd say Finland right off the bat. And no, I don't say that incompetently, since I've actually been in those parts.
Funny how people are never happy with what they have to be happy with

I think the words she should be looking for are "spellcheck" or "dictionary," personally.jonmartensen wrote:As a side note, I think the word you are looking for is "opinion" instead of "repinion".
I'd also like to point out that since I know I'm actually going to Japan, if I'm ever as blindly fangirlish as this girl then I want you all to tie me down to a Manchurian Candidate-style chair, force me to watch a solid hour of LPZ videos, and shoot me in the head.

High taxes & prices, poor weather, unemployment, Europe's highest suicide rate, alcohol problems, family violence etc. don't count, right?
Cherries = yummyrose4emily wrote:Of course, I've heard Finland has a pretty nice social climate as well - though I had no idea you could actually get cherry trees to grow that far north (they seem to have a hard time in my home state of New Hampshire, but then there could be other factors in the climate I'm not thinking of).
I don't know about other fields of study, but I've studied Economics and 95% of the books we had to read were in English. A lot of courses are also held in English to offer something to the exchange students. But getting a whole degree without knowing the language could still be hard.rose4emily wrote:I actually considered appying to the Helsinki University of Technology for their Acoustics and Audio Signal Processing program, but realized it wouldn't be terribly practical to try living in a country whose primarily language was a complete unknown to me.
In normal everyday life you really don't need to know Finnish. Even though the official languages are Finnish and Swedish, most of the urban people understand English better than Swedish.

I was always an outsider to the society. Besides, I got in there by the way of Russia, and I assure you, Russia beats Finland in nearly all those things (and I like Russia just the same). And frankly, I prefer the weather there to Canada any day of the week
Frankly, it's the nature that concerns me most. I've spent a lot of time in the Karelia area in general, and I'm addicted to the landscape there. Give me a house near the water somewhere near lake Saimaa, and I'll never leave
Well, and then there's music (there's some crazy stuff on the scene in Finland, last time I checked...). Though it might just be the alcohol again.

I'd prefer a cottage in the southwestern archipelago. Nothing wrong with the lakes, but sea is more my element. The landscape is a little rougher though.Otohiko wrote:Frankly, it's the nature that concerns me most. So I ended up going to school in upstate New York instead. Glad I dodged that bullet.High taxes & prices, poor weather, unemployment, Europe's highest suicide rate, alcohol problems, family violence etc. don't count, right?

good one. (being familiar with upstate New York more than Finland and all).
Of course, hardly anything beats rural Southern Ontario

Anyway... is our original poster getting any closer to knowing how to make videos yet? Or have we derailed permanently?
I do suggest you read the guides. That'll get you closer to editing than discussions of various places to live

Sorry, I'm too lazy to use dictionary, forgive me and don't pay attention to my mistakes, I make lots of them as you can see.
What I have heard there has been cherry trees in some where here in Finland, maybe small ones... really, really small...
Finland is ok place to stay if you don't look much different from finnish people. Rasism is one big problem, but like I said, I am going to Japan, who cares about Finland? I don't really care if everyone else in the whole world dies as long as Japan survivals.
Fan or what ever. Fanatic usually when it comes to things I love.
All those deep thoughts of yours means almost nothing to me. I'm getting a bit angry though, I make mistakes, I may "talk" a lot but I do mean every word. I'm not doubting anything what you people might say, because I am naive and believe in them.
Forgive me my mistakes and I shall forgive you yours.

Good, because a while back this thread drifted from "deep thoughts" to "regional jokes". As rose4emily stated, it's just idle conversation at this point.kawaii_baka_neko wrote:All those deep thoughts of yours means almost nothing to me.
I suggest following the others' advice and <a href="http://www.animemusicvideos.org/guides/ ... FAG-ing (if you haven't already).
