A lot of us do, Tab. The trick lies in knowing when to stop.

Why do so many people bitch about PAL's frame-rate, yet no one seems to give two hoots when it comes to film?

Quick factoid for Syskin: Japan has 50Hz power cycles, not 60Hz (at least, in the majority of the country, including Tokyo and other large Eastern cities). So logically they should be using PAL, but they don't, unless they changed power standards at some point, which I doubt.

Japan: 100v, 50Hz
US: 120v, 60Hz
Most of Europe: 230v, 50Hz

Gah go me forgetting to say something. *smacks forhead*

Also, due to fractional framerates in NTSC countries, you haven't been able to sync the NTSC clock to the power signal in 50 years, so really a country that wants to use NTSC has no advantage if it's 50Hz or 60Hz. It'd have to be 59.94Hz to sync properly.

Countries with 50Hz power cycles do have an advantage for choosing PAL over NTSC since you don't need clock chips, but a 60Hz country could just as easily pick PAL over NTSC.

Wow, that's just funny.

OK, where should I start. Your post was a necropost because no one had posted in about a month and a half. You original post to this thread was probably one, also, since it had been a week. If people were still reading it, they would still be posting about it. A week is a long time. But alas, this thread died, but has been reborn, like a pheonix.

After your initial post, AbsoluteDestiny debunked your comments. This is the man that makes up the "AD" part of "Read ErMaC & AbsoluteDestiny's Friendly AMV Guides." I would think he knows a little more about this stuff than you or me.

Anyhow, I don't know why the fuck you're bringing up musicals and John Woo, or even your religious upbringing. Who cares? I sure don't. Is that supposed to impress me? Am I supposed to regard you as a great person now? This has nothing to do with the message of my post to you, which was:
Rozard wrote:Wow. Not only are you close minded, ignorant, pig headed and brooding, but you're also a necroposter. Bleeeaaahh.
I believe we already worked out the part about you being a necroposter, do you want me to spoonfeed you the rest of it?

"If it's not Sony, save your money." "You PAL junkies are probably the same people converting 16:9 wide-screen to the less cinematic 4:3 TV ratio." "If the technological capital of the world i.e. Japan uses NTSC. That is what I would prefer."

I'd say all of that is pretty close minded. Have you ever thought about the benefits of PAL footage? Or are you too gung-ho that OMG JAPAN=NTSC IT ROxXx!!

Only Europe uses PAL to my knowledge. Maybe India, but they tend to make musicals.

Yeah, I'd say that's ignorant and close minded.

"However my own US (with exception to Intel) and Europe suck in matters of technology." in conjuction with "I'll take Japan?s choice of NTSC." is very pig headed. I realize now that you're one of those anime fans who thinks that Japan is superior to every country in every way. Fuck, you'd sell your soul to "the devil I don't believe in to be Japanese.

As for the brooding part, the whole atmosphere of your posts are brooding. Everything is me me me, and how nothing anyone does is good enough.

NTSC is interlaced. PAL is progressive. Ergo PAL is much better. James Cameron said so.
