btw, is a DVD-R deck still going to be the standard 20 years from now?
So in other words, one part of the community is waging war on another part of the community because they take their community seriously enough to want to do so. Then they tell the powerless side to get over the loss cause it's just an online community. I'm glad people make so much sense." -- Tab

so I could spent 100 dollars right now and then in 3 to 6 years get the HD DVD stuff. or spent 300 dollars, and in 3 to 6 years get the HD DVD stuff.

so your logic is, beta is going to be gone in 3 to 6 years so buy something else for 200 more dollars that is ALSO going to be gone in 3 to 6 years.

for buying and watching movies, and anime and stuff definetly DVD. but the "I'll be obsolite in a few years" argument just isn't good enough to warrant the 200 extra bucks since DVD's as a whole will by obsolite by then too. but I do have some questions about DVD-R's. Does recording from a satelite to a DVD amplify block noise or anything like that?

of course not. I just wanted to know if anyone else here used them. Now would you care to explain why you tried to convince me otherwise?
