Split and join audio for collabs?

Post by arjemma » Wed Jun 23, 2010 4:03 am

Hi guys!
I'm new here and I need some of your awesome help.
Have anyone of you made collabs and in that case how do you fix the audio?
I tried to split the audio and then send out the parts to those who were in the collab, then when I was going to join all the parts, it left a sound so you could clearly hear where the split was.
How can I fix this?

Anyone who has an idea?

Why don't you just use the original, unsplit audio for the finished collaboration?

Oh yea I have thought about that. Will everything be synced then?

Depends on how much overlap you left when you split the audio track in the first place. If there was no overlap, and none of the editors went over on either side of their segments, then it ought to synch up fine.

Just in case, though, you could include the audio from the individual segments when you're putting them together in whatever editing program you use just to see that they still match closely enough to the original unsplit track without having to shift them forward or back.
