thats a bit of a tough question, cause everyone will give you a different answer.
many people started with windows movie maker.
the most commonly used would probably be adobe premiere.
i personally prefer ulead mediastudiopro 7.
check the software review area to see whats best for you.

However, "make" is a fairly broad term that can refer to any subset of the AMV-creation process, and most people new to this hobby don't have a great understanding of the technical side of handling footage. So stop being a jerk.Alex_Dragon wrote:Techinacally he wants software to "make" amvs which leads me to the conclusion that he has no idea that he has to rip DVDs figure out Avisynth and Virtual Dub And learn how to edit decently before he actually makes a video.

No, I understand perfectly well that I must rip video from dvds, and / or use some vids that I have downloaded on my comp (annyone know where I can get some good ripping software?.) I know that I must editt descently, and all the other stuff. I have made one video that I hope to priemere here soon, my problem is that Windows movie maker (the only AMV making software that i have currently available) does not allow small enough increments for the videos I want nto make, nor does it have enough effects or good enough video splicing. I want a different one that's better.Alex_Dragon wrote:Techinacally he wants software to "make" amvs which leads me to the conclusion that he has no idea that he has to rip DVDs figure out Avisynth and Virtual Dub And learn how to edit decently before he actually makes a video.

Bad idea... Don't use other peoples vids to make AMVs, but if it's downloaded footage, don't tell anyone cause that's bad.Tsukasa-San wrote:No, I understand perfectly well that I must rip video from dvds, and / or use some vids that I have downloaded on my comp
www.doom9.org has everything you need. Has all the programs and a few guides. a-m-v.org also has a guides section that explains everything quite well.Tsukasa-San wrote:(annyone know where I can get some good ripping software?.)
Practice hard and try a wide variety of programs. I tried ulead media studio, too complicated. Premiere, crashed a lot on me (I have a very slow comp, probably the worst on the ORG). Magix video deLuxe is good for me cause it doesn't use a lot of resources and, IMO, has a very userfriendly interface. Takes a few minutes to get used to, but it's a good program.Tsukasa-San wrote:I know that I must editt descently, and all the other stuff. I've heard Magix is good fo rthe beet recognition portion, so I think I'll try it. (and about having the worst comp on the org, my pld pnme, could barely stay on for five minutes w/o crashing ^^)BrsrkEva wrote:Practice hard and try a wide variety of programs.
