Audio cassette to digital?

Post by bubblehead » Wed Mar 24, 2004 11:30 pm

Is there a way to get the audio from a cassette tape to a digital format?
If so, what is it?
B/c I have a tape which has a song on it that I want to use in an AMV, but it is not available on a CD.
Thanks. BTW, this isn't my next planned vid, so don't worry too much.

I believe you can find a cable with a 1/8" phono jack on either end at Radio Shack. Plug one jack into the headphone port on your tape player/stereo, and the other plug into your microphone port on your computer. Make sure you press record on your computer's audio recorder before you press play on the tape.

Hey, he just asked how to do it. I'll assume he knows what to do after that to clean it up.

If you happen to have a line in, use that rather than a mic in. You'll get 2 channels/stero whereas a mic-in is mono/1 channel.
