Premier Audio Q

Post by Gusto1979 » Wed Jul 14, 2004 7:35 am

hey hey all, i said a while back that i thought i had everything i finally needed in order to start making amv's and i guess it wasnt true. BUT, now i really do. ive been spending all this time trying to find soemthing to rip my dvds into a seperate audio and video track and have been unsuccesful. im going to be using adobe premier 6.0 and i was curious how most other people do it. do you seperate the a/v, or do you just mute the sound using premier(assumuing you can do that with premier, have only toyed with it very little) or what do people suggest? thats been my only question at this point before i get started, is how do i deal with the sound from the clips of the dvd's ill be using, can you mute or lower the volume using premier or is there a way to seperate it? thanks in advance

If you're editing with the VOBs via DGIndex/DVD2AVI and AVISynth, then your AVS scripts shouldn't be serving the audio at all, so you don't need to worry about that.

If you saved source clips as AVIs, and they've got audio, just save them again without.

2 ways to do it that are even easier! for prem 6.0

1) when selecting your clip on the lower left hand side click the audio off in the clip window before you even put it on the timeline.

2)if the clip is already in the timeline and you're audio and video are both being shown as a green color Right click on either audio or video and on the menu and click on "unlink audio and video" the clips will turn yellow for video and blue for audio and delete the one you don't want on the timeline.

Enjoy!
