then you obviously haven't read thoroughly enough, there is 1 generally quick easy solution if you don't mind the size change: crop it in VDubModDJ Jaime wrote:Actually I've read that guide and still can't get a fast solution without painting over the subs
other than that all the solutions are gerally slow, painstaking, and not there if you don't use fansubs and buy DVDs.

Umm YES that is the point. And personally, I don't feel this way. I've seen DVD releases that are horrible quality, by far worse than fansubs you can get. I personally don't think you should throw your money away on a piece of shit. If people keep doing that then theres no incouragement to provide the consumers (us) with a quality product.Zaphod_Beeblebrox wrote:thats not the point, DVD buying should always be encouraged.devilmaykickass wrote:Thats not entirely true.Zaphod_Beeblebrox wrote:and not there if you don't use fansubs and buy DVDs.

Well Puni Puni Poemi, for example, has subtitles that you can't get rid of otherwise, which is how this thread started in the first place.Katsumi_AMVs wrote:Is that possible?
I mean .. a DVD with quality bad enough to justify cropping (lost of a percentage of the screen) or erase subs frame by frame ?
And yes, I have the first Sailor Moon series DVDs that ADV released, and they're by far worse quality then the fansubs that were being distributed for years prior.

Excuse me, it was another thread that got started about the Puni Puni Poemi subs. But yes, theres no way to get rid of them but the same methods to use on fansubs. Its a GREAT quality series...quite possibly the best I've seen, but those subs are there.devilmaykickass wrote:Well Puni Puni Poemi, for example, has subtitles that you can't get rid of otherwise, which is how this thread started in the first place.Katsumi_AMVs wrote:Is that possible?

I hate the lack of an edit button.
