Smallville/Superman Running Effect? Help PLEASE!!
Well im shooting a new video for my media class and i need the effect they do in smallville where when Clark runs it looks like he leaves a trail of himself but like in superfast speed.....what is that effect and how would i do it without having the whole video to do the effect. I only need 1 person to have the effect on. I dont want the old Superman effect where its a bunch of fades going fast of one person either >_>
If anyone could help me on this id greatly appreciate it.

hmm
this is tricky... I'm guessing you want the burry like motion trail behind superman when he moves very fast. I don't know how to get it to look exactly like that. but if you only want 1 character to do it, your going to have to use masking or some other method to seperate him from the rest of the footage first. It sounds like something AE might be able to handle better than Premeire. (which I have no experience with)
You might be able to achive something similar if you play around with the Ghosting filter along with the various Blurs, maybe directional blur, or try overlapping the same clip ontop of each other in stages using blur and different opacity levels. I've been able to come up with some pretty nifty effects with diferent combinations like that. (AR2, Eternal sky)
Playa round with different methods of masking and using the blur filter, and overlaying clips. Beyond that, I don't realy know....

I figured it all out. Since i basically only had a video with non moving camera it was very simple to do it with ghosting effect. Well i got it all down and i smooth it down with some effects. I just hope Final Cut Pro has ghosting effect at my scoo! If not i have to record it on a dam tape and import to Final cut pro -_-. Oh those tapes take up all mah money. lol. Well thx for help you guys ^_^!Bakadeshi [AuN Studios] wrote:hmm
