HuffyUV question.

Post by RamonesFan2020204 » Sun Apr 23, 2006 1:11 pm

Okay, I just finished my second AMV since I reformatted my Hard Drive, and I don't remember this, and I want to make sure:

Those are the boxes that are supposed to be checked in the settings for the HuffyUV codec, right? I took a screenshot of the video after I saved it, and I looked at a screen shot from an older video of mine that had the same shot to see if it looked the same, and it looked like it, but I want to make sure. I don't know, I guess I'm just feeling a little paranoid right now. Anyway, are the boxes checked in the screen shot supposed to be the ones I'm supposed to have checked?

You can always consult the guide, which handily has your answers.

How do I know if I need to have "Enable RGBA (RGB with Alpha) compression"?

EADFAG wrote:The other options in the Huffyuv settings are not actually important when exporting from Premiere. Enable RGBA compression is useful if you have used Alpha Channels but this is mostly a feature you would need more for Adobe After Effects. Enabling this option in Premiere would just give you needlessly bigger files.

Yes, but how do I know if I have Alpha Channels or not?

Wait, just one question. If I'm only supposed to check "Always Suggest RGB Format For Output", why did the guy who taught me tell me to pick the second third and fourth options too?

A) He was being overly cautious.
B) He didn't know what he was doing.
C) He thought they were needed for some reason.
D) You have a bizarre enough setup to merit them.

Take your pick.
