What audio file is the song recorded in? In other words, is it an uncompressed WAV file (which you should be using to edit to), or some kind of compressed audio like MP3, AAC (MP4, M4A, etc.)?

If it is the latter, I suspect this is a reason for your troubles. Either rip a copy of the song from the CD as a WAV and use that. Or, stick the MP3 or whatever into something like BeSweet and convert it to an uncompressed WAV file.

Another option is to export (render) your audio and video separately from Vegas. The video as either uncompressed RGB, Huffyuv or Lagarith. The audio as a WAV file. Follow this guide: http://www.animemusicvideos.org/guides/ ... xport.html

Then (if you've never done it) go here: http://www.animemusicvideos.org/guides/ ... intro.html and read up.

Buzzy, do you mean clipped as in quick loud buzzes when the sound is at a peek? Can you send me the MP3 of the sound so I can identify it?
Also if you are using vagas 6.X look at the level meters and see if you are regestering clips in the audio.
