Im having trouble getting one of my videos to work on windows media player. Its a .mkv formated and i have the codec to run the video which is the Combined Community Codec. and i have a a few other codecs and i recently installed a AMVapp pack which contains a variety of codecs. WMP always plyed my .MKV videos fine until today when i tried playing it, i get this message:

forget what i just wrote, i meant, i should uninstall AMVapp and CCCP then reinstall CCCP right. but i still need AMVapp since it comes with some err...ecoders and stuff i need such as the HYUV thingy and the Lagarith. can i still install it or should i just download the stuff seperatly instead of the whole AMVapp pack?

While you install the AMVapp, it should have an option to skip installation of some parts, like ffdshow. If you've already uninstalled it, then while reinstalling, you'll get to a screen that will allow you to choose components to install. Uncheck anything you don't want, such as FFDshow, DVD Decrypter (if you've installed the last version 3.5.4.0, AMVapp comes with 3.5.2.0), and DGMPGDec (1.4.8 is the latest), for example.
You could install all those other codecs and utilities separately if you prefer, especially if there are newer versions available (FFDshow, DVD Decrypter, DGMPGDec, Lagarith, etc.)
