Need help. Cutting out and blending song section

Hello.
I have a problem with my song choice. I picked Jet - Are you gonna be my girl.

near the end they go into this long drawn out repetitive guitar/drum solo. it goes on for 40 seconds and thats way too long to keep peoples attention.

Id like to chop out the middle part of this solo and blend the end part of the solo with the beginning part fo the solo...so its less of a solo, but seemless like nothing was edited. Follow me? xD?

I use Vegas. If anyone has any helpful tips or can point me in a direction...anything would be better then nothing ^_^
