Premiere vs Vegas
I know it really depends on what you need that makes the best program for you but out of premiere and vegas what would be the pros and cons of each one? Currently I am using the demo of premiere and going to get the demo of vegas and see if I can find any difference so I can decide on which on to buy.
Though I would like more opinions on this than my own since this is going to cost quite a bit, what are the reason I would buy Premiere, and what reasons would I buy Vegas.
Comments Appreciated.

I use Vegas, so I'll pro/con that.
Pros:
-Vegas 6 is cheaper than any version of Premiere at only $99
-Vegas has a comprehensive Help file, so if you ever need to know how to do something it's a simple matter of just looking it up and reading up on it.
-Unlimited video tracks.
-Some nice stock effects, but most of them are admittedly crap.
-VERY nice masking/pen tools.
-Pretty easy to jump into; was for me at least.
-Can handle IVTC'd video at 23.976 fps in addition to 29.97 fps; Premiere can only handle video at 29.97 fps.
-Hotkeys speed things up a ton.
-Good at editing audio.
Cons:
-Crappy marker/snap functions.
-Absolutely horrendous and useless 3D tracking.
-Unwieldy blending modes; blending modes can't be applied to individual clips, instead they must be applied to entire tracks.
-Picky about rendering sped-up clips.

Here am I, a Premiere user.
Premiere Pro 1.5 & CS3.:
Pros:
-Easy to handle
-Fast when you work with hot keys
-More sequenzes in one project file ("more projects in one porjectfile").
-Can render a preview for you
-Accepts avs directly
-Dynamic. You can use alot of projects from Adobe in Premiere. Awesome if you need to change some things and spares time.
-Effects can be easly copy and pastet on other clips. In Vegas you need to work with these Presetmode -.-'
-Pan, crop, zoom mode. Is much more easier as the Vegas stuff. To be honest it can´t do all of the things in the Vegas tool, but at least I don´t need it. The main things are here too.
Cons:
-You can´t change the project settings after aplying them at the beginning
-Horrible RAM usage. Vegas only needs around 1/10 to 4/10 of Premieres RAM. These leads to a lot of crashes when you don´t export the right way.
-More expensive than Vegas
-No pen tool, but After Effect has it.
In fact: Buying Vegas 6 for 99 bucks is the best thing you can do.

Agreed. I've barely touched Vegas and been a long time Premiere 6.5 user, but you can't beat what you get for the price with Vegas. I've been considering switching because of the efficiency/resource usage issue (and Vegas handles 24p nicely!) (And as far as aforementioned pans/effects/stuff, neither programs are really great for that, AE is where it's at.) I kinda figure no matter what NLE I end up with, I'll still probably always use AE and Photoshop.

Right click clip with effect. Select copy.
Right click the clip you want to have the same effect on.
Select "Paste Event Attributes"
Done.
