well, that was annoying T_T Vista 64 Home Ed

annoying because Vista Home 64 doesn't like my cable modem T_T

.. there are a few things that Vista doesn't seem to like on-line compared to being off-line and one of the is VLC-players >_< and I'm thinking its because the alarms that have been popping-up are from "Same Name Files" [ this is a problem! ] .. and I now understand what they mean by "Blue/Green screen of Death" -- its not what you'd think [ the audio plays just fine; the video fills with whatever the first/primary color is of the "first scanned pixel" while ignoring anything else within the video picture :: however the dementional size of the image retains its correct aspect ratio. ]
.. my guess is that no one discribed it like that because they didn't know what they were looking at. The good news, for those who are just starting Vista is that the CCCP codec + FFDshowCLI trick media player into playing MKv files with 1 of every 5 subtitles being displayed on its screen. ( media player still crashes every third episode with the "black screen of no-responce" but recovers itself if you left click on the mid-lower controls area in full-screen mode. [ after about a minute or two ] )
.. MP4's are not responding and I don't know why! If "I" create an MP4 video, it plays-back just fine ( even in media player ) but if it is something someone else has encoded it fails to start saying "invalid format" .. same with the Xvid sub's where the first frame is not marked as a Key frame! -- XP allows this, Vista does not!
.. the good new, for the developers who stopped work on Avidemux, Vista actually likes both GTK & QT versions of this software soo good bye Virtual Dub -- hello Avidemux ^_^

.. reason for this post .. AMP21.exe & AVIsynth 2.5 do load into Vista 64 but like Visual Basic programs only run on first install and use -- then you get a message saying that the "exe" is currupt T_T if it worked on initial install then it should keep on working .. shouldn't it??

.. is there a way to LOCK the Admin as Primary User? .. I've loaded and am now using programs originally designed for Windows 3.10 & WinME at the same time but only when the pop-up gives me the option to open the program as an admin. !!!?
