A little bit of a problem

Post by GreenT » Thu Sep 11, 2008 11:45 am

Well, I recently got a MacBookPro, and it's pretty awesome. I love it, and for editing software I have Final Cut and Adobe Premiere Pro CS3. I've used both before, and they're pretty awesome. The only thing is, I used them for actual videos from cameras and such.

My problem is, how do I rip DVDs and make the footage editable? Pretty much nothing works from EADFAG since most of the software is pretty much Windows only.

Any suggestions?

get a pc :|

ok, just kidding. There used to be a site run by shazzy (ishtori.net) which had guides for macs, but the domain expired.

From other threads/memory (I edit on windows)...ripping programs you'll look for are macTheRipper or Handbrake. For cleaning up the footage/making it progressive you'll want avidemux.

Mpeg Streamclip converts the .vobs into DV

if you look through the guides and try to follow along with the programs above I think you'll be able to make your dvd footage editable.

If you need more help, pm JudgeHolden or Shazzy (the only 2 people I know for sure use macs here...Kionon might as well)
