VirtualDubMod Help!!!!!

When i try to open a video clip in VirtualDubMod I get this!!!! Can someone help please!!!

what compression is the file?

Could it be that this file used to have a different extension? A .mp4 perhaps?

get gspot. It'l tell you what codec it's encoded (and if you have it installed or not...among other things)

If you don't have the codec, google it, download and install and that should fix your problem. Otherwise, take a screenshot of the gspot window and post it here

ok downloading now!
whenever i open gspot it works for a few seconds then stops responding then closes!!!

The program has to "warm up" if you will. During that time it is loading its various tools and may look like it isn't responding.

also, if you're on vista it may help to run as admin.
I don't use vista myself, but that's the way to get around the UAC which seems to cause lots of problems.

I was looking closely at the program right before it closes and what i got was, as soon as the status bar reaches all the way across, thats when it stops working!!
