Sorry if this question has already been asked before i am a newb here on amv boards.
My question is how do you get the japanese audio track and english subtitles on the vob files when dvd decpyter ripps the dvd. Sorry if this doesn't make a lot of sense.
I am using the default setting for the program. the vob files it makes has the video but doesn't show the english subtitles and the audio that is grouped with it is english and i want the japanese.
Because i take the vob files that dvd decrypter makes and directly import it into windows movie maker or Adobe Primere Elements 4. I don't use huffy or any of the other programs that have been listed in the tutorial.
I need the english subtitles from my dvd in the video and the japanese audio for my amv that i am working on and need to know what settings to change on the DVD decrypter program so i get english subtiles and japanese audio.
Sorry if this doesn't make a lot of sense but if anyone can help me i would be very much appreciative to the help.

Both subtitles and audio are muxed with the video when the .vob files are made, so ripping it gives you everything. You'll need a few more programs to do what you want to do.
editing vobs directly will make syncing harder, and you're liable to have junk that you don't want in your clips where you cut them...but that's up to you; however, you're not going to be able to directly edit the vobs if you want the subtitles (well...I guess you still could, but you're going to need to process the .vobs further anyway, so I'd just follow the guide)
The easiest way (I can think of) to extract the Japanese audio is to demux the audio when you index the .vob file(s) with dgindex (audio -> output method -> decode ac3 track to wav, then select the audio stream from audio-> select tracks)
*you could just demux all tracks, which would eliminate the need to guess for which one is the Japanese track, but you'll get AC3 audio...which would need an extra step and another program to make the audio usable in premiere elements
I think the Japanese tracks would be the bottom-most tracks in the select tracks list (bottom 1 or 2, depends on who made the dvd)
to get the subtitles, you'll use virtualdub/mod and vobsub.
I haven't used vobsub, so I can't provide any more help on that

DVDFab can rip the video and audio and you can choose which ones you want to keep, be warned though DVDFab hates DVDs with multiple angles. It does not like my Tsubasa Chronicle DVDs.
