Ripping DVDs on a computer with no disk drive?

How the heck do I rip my DVD onto the computer? My netbook has no disk drive! Does anyone have any suggestions? :x :?: :cry:

While buying an external dvd drive would do the trick, editing on that will be a pain in the ass, since it's too slow too handle real time editing even with SD content...
