How do I use lagarith in these programs...?

Hello all. Sorry if I may ask, and also I might have posted this thread on the worng place, but I wanted to ask how to use Lagarith in my video editing-converting programs.
The programs that I use are:
-After Effects 7
-Sony Vegas 7
-VirtualDub

you encode your source using lagarith as the video compression, and then open the video file in the program
