Howdy
.. got a GoGear SA3245/37
----- for those whome don't know what it is:
1) FM Stereo Recorder/Listener.
2) MP3 Player with 4 gig mini hard drive.
3) Video Player .. in video.smv format ... ------- and THAT's my problem
.. the Converter that is packaged with it will accept .wmv only -- to convert files.
this makes everything look like hell
.. Its only 480 X 272 @ 60 fps but all I've ever found for it takes smv2avi or smv2flv
which is really silly because going from flv2smv is what I need to be doing
any idea's on a possible CODEC for SMV or FLV in he near future ????
THx
PS. why does the audio become Mono in the SMV's when its stereo in every other format ???
video to ... smv t_t -- ))stereo((

Never heard of it before, but apparently it is some king of MPEG4 container - but then you probably knew that already.
Have you tried any of these: Give the MachSpeed transcoder a go first because their Onyx player uses SMV and seems to be a new(ish) binary. It is the iBeat players that are of interest from TrekStor, but I have no idea why there are different transcoders for the two devices.

Re: video to ... smv t_t -- ))stereo((
.. hmmm, well -- I'm further than I was with the Encoder that came
with this $64.00 silly thing
GoGear just sucks and Falsely Advertises what their products can do!
.. after doing some research, I bought a Sansa 8gig scandisk.
1) it records FM ( unlike the Philips SA3245/37 SN:NW1A0832002134 )
2) it plays .MP4 files which needs no specail encoder ( unlike the Philips SA3245/37 SN:NW1A0832002134 )
3) it plays .WMA files and MP3's ( unlike the Philips SA3245/37 SN:NW1A0832002134 )
.. Instead of trying to correct the errors of the GoGear Purchase, "by slamming this thing into something hard and fast" I'll instead leave IT and the videos made of people trying to get it to do what the Manual "says it can do" on display for everyone to see 24/7 at our public library ... under the caption, "what not to give/get for any reason; sane or otherwise!" - traxx
