encoding/converting videos for iPod

Post by Inuyasha the 3rd » Sat Apr 28, 2007 6:37 pm

Okay, so I just got my new iPod. Obviously, its an iPod video. I'd like to start converting my AMV's to an iPod compatible format. I know the codec is h.264, but apparently I heard from my friend it has to be in a small resolution (can't remember the resolution) and the framerate has to be in 29.97. Now how does one go converting a video file that is in 23.976FPS or 24FPS to that framerate?

Thanks in advance

Umm...

I'd rather have a free solution. Sorry but no. Thanks anyways.

You need to encode your video to 320x240 H.2.64 (768 kbps bitrate) and the audio to AAC 48 Khz audio (2.5 mbps bitrate).

I assume you're using Windows. See this guide on converting video for the iPod.
