le second error did not go away after I downloaded XviD.Scintilla wrote:The second error message will be eliminated by installing XviD, yes.
The first one means that your AVI file has a VBR audio stream. However, if you're only using these files as source for editing, then you generally don't care about the audio at all, so you can ignore it.
footage-> AVI -> something I can edit with?

.. if I remember right, four years ago Xvid was always loaded after Divx 4 was loaded .. and Divx was loaded after MediaDX was installed by .. like .. an ATI Catalyst.
.. do you have a DVD Player installed? [ sounds like something is missing in your computer ] or do you have Nero 6 installed?
-- just a random thought

1) xvid video is the problem.
2) VirtualDubMOD is installed.
3) Nero and its codec's for Video to VCD/AVI installed.
4) an Xvid install itself for the Codec's that won't load ...
.. .. we know your using a Windows Based operating system because of VDMOD.
.. .. we know that DirectX 6 or newer is installed because of Nero.
.. .. we know, from experience, that VDMOD does not normally have these problems when the Handlers are installed.
.. .. we know that any DVD Software will automatically load a MediaDX version.
.. only one thing to do; call TAB .. we've missed something here!
.. .. this can't be happening

^^; wow....
I've tried the following:
Uninstalling
Restarting
Reinstalling
Restarting
Installing Xvid from post-it's post
Restarting
Installing Dvix
restarting
Trying again.
Same error about the codecs...
Is my computer broken, or did I not do something the rest of you have done already that you didn't think of that would need being done?
