Re: [Lossless] Ut Video Codec
Indeed, as Enigma said, most of the extra things are available through much more powerful tools, such as AvsP as far as avisynth coding goes, for example. But pretty much any other feature is available by other (better) means.
OGM encoding really is the only reason for which you might still want to use VDM, and even then I doubt you want or should encode to OGM anyway.

Re: [Lossless] Ut Video Codec
I'm having player problems with it.
Compressed, and tried with all four of them, and in all of them it does not play properly.
PS: Was tryin' on a 720p.

Re: [Lossless] Ut Video Codec
You shouldn't really be playing them, as lossless codecs are just meant for usage while editing, so, as long as it works in your NLE, you have nothing to worry about.

Re: [Lossless] Ut Video Codec
I can't really test it out on my editing program, but I can say this. Every time the file acts like that in mediaplayer, in the edition program it does not play properly either.
Then, what to do?

Re: [Lossless] Ut Video Codec
What player did you try it in, anyway? For example, VLC will *not* play it, because the utvideo codec is not part of ffmpeg (yet, anyway).

Always MediaPlayerClassic, the one at AMVapp.
And it is the kind of playing error it gives when converting using converters, most of the times because of the FPS I think.

Re: [Lossless] Ut Video Codec
Try installing CCCP (if you haven't already) and use media player classic home cinema instead... if utvideo has been installed properly, it should play there. But playing it in virtualdub should work too, so you might want to just try there. If you have issues, I guess try reinstalling utvideo because maybe something went wrong during the installation?

Re: [Lossless] Ut Video Codec
I'm pretty sure I found your problem. These won't work for you unless you're using them along with 64 bit software. Install the x86 version of UTVideo and try again.Kawatta-kun wrote:Now, it gives me 4 options:
UT Video Codec RGB (ULRG) VCM x64;
UT Video Codec RGB (ULRA) VCM x64;
UT Video Codec YUV420 (ULY0) VCM x64;
UT Video Codec YUV422 (ULY2) VCM x64.
There is a 64-bit version of Media Player Classic Home Cinema, but so far I haven't found a good use for it aside from testing 64-bit codecs I find.

Meh. I'm tired. I just now noticed that you also installed the 32-bit version and you were using the 64-bit version of Vegas. My bad. Maybe there's a problem with having both the x86 and x64 codecs installed?
