Help with a crashing virtualDUB

Post by hyuugaaisu » Mon Mar 19, 2018 6:18 pm

I've been trying to convert a file from .mkv to lossless .avi! each time using virtual dub i go to start conversion it crashes on me and i've been struggling to figure out why. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated. I've tried using other .mkv files and it does the same.

you really should just switch to AMVTool. It was specifically made so that AMV editors won't have to use virturaldub and zarxgui anymore. It gives you the option to convert your footage to AVI, MP4 or mov viewtopic.php?f=11&t=129470

To solve the issue more details are needed. Are you using the ffmpeg input plugin? If so are you opening the file directly or through an AviSynth Script?

Consider updating to virtualdub2, as well: https://sourceforge.net/projects/vdfiltermod/

It really is a valuable improvement over the original virtualdub.
