RM audio file to an MP3? Some way? ANY way? =0)

This isn't even remotely anime related, so if that turns you off, you may switch threads now. =0)

My Dad recently sang in a choir production for a radio station here in MN, but he forgot to wake up to record it. So, while we were looking for a way to record it, we found that the website has the files in an .ram format for streaming.

I downloaded the files, and I'm now looking for a quick way to reformat the files(render them, whatever) and make them in to WAV files or MP3's just short of sticking a microphone to the speakers and hitting "Record" in Sound Recorder.

Anyone have any ideas? =0)

Check out ErMaC and AD's guide (specifically, the audio section). Use the same idea with using dpPowerAmp and the auxiliary input feature.

Basically, you're internally doing what you suggested (putting speakers up to the mic; same concept, anyway). At least this way, the WAV file you create will sound *exactly* like whatever you play through RealPlayer.

Hope that's some help!

Those 1337 Haxors at streambox technologies (the ones who made the prog that can copy any streaming file off a web server, especially RM. needless to say they got their asses sued ^_^) had Steambox Ripper or something which was like the most 1337 audio converter ever. It did Rm>wav and rm>mp3 and even rm>ogg/wma. its located here.

Streambox Ripper is still kicking around out there too. (AWESOME for getting trailers)

StreamBoxRipper doesnt allow Real Media files anymore. I just downloaded it, and it said it doesnt support it anymore. I dont think there is ANY way to convert Real Media files to any other format, without doing something like mentioned above with the mic to the speaker, etc.

Hook a cable from line out to line in on your soundcard, maybe?

the guides tell you how to do this - real audio is supported by dbpoweramp convertor.

I am going to give love to the "What 'U' Hear Driver" ;O

Oh yeah baby, that + Sound Recorder(well okay, acutally Auadicity would be better). You can pretty much get anything recorded that way, but it's a bit clunky.
