Please help. I am trying to find out how to install this updated codec, yet I cannot find an installation guide anywhere. I don't remember having any problems installing xvid, but there are a multitude of additional folders and files that I have no idea where to put.
The "installation guide" that is included with the downloaded file is for Unix or Win32/MSVC. I'm running XP.
What am I supposed to do?

Those are the source files - they're worthless without a compiler.
You need this (the actual installer):

Just make sure to uninstall the old version of Xvid first to avoid any potential problems.
