Jerky Video With TMPGEnc?
My AMV is progressive at 23.976 fps. I'm using the 3:2 pulldown option in TMPEnc to convert it to an MPEG-2 that is interlaced at 29.97fps. Problem is, I've noticed that when I use the 3:2 pulldown, scenes with a lot of motion in them (moving from side to side, or up-down etc.) have been slightly jerky. I'm using the TMPEnc template given here. Is this normal? Is there anything I can do to fix it?

Now that I think of it I'm not sure that "jerky" is the right word. It's basically just not as smooth as the original Huffy file when scenes are panning or moving.

Thanks for your response. Yes, I always set Motion Search Precision to "Highest Quality [Very Slow]." This problem seems to have started recently, although maybe I just never noticed it before.Pwolf wrote:take a look at the settings and make sure Motion Search Precision is set to highest quality.
I thought maybe there was something wrong with my video, but I checked other videos of mine and the results still don't come out completely smooth.
I did a couple of tests with different videos. I realized if I don't use the 3:2 pulldown and leave it at it's original framerate: progessive 23.976, I don't really notice the problem half as much, but it's still there just a tiny bit.
Is there anything else I can try?
