Audio encode help/tips...
In VDubMod, is LAME Mp3 still the best audio encoding for .avis? Or is there a new downloadable plugin codec that is better than that?

If you use a decent container like mp4 or mkv though, you can use better audio codecs like AAC.

I was looking for an AAC one actually too. Where can I find one?Zarxrax wrote:If you use a decent container like mp4 or mkv though, you can use better audio codecs like AAC.

I use iTunes. But there's also the Nero AAC encoder* and FAAC (although I can't really recommend FAAC).uchihaclan13 wrote:I was looking for an AAC one actually too. Where can I find one?Zarxrax wrote:If you use a decent container like mp4 or mkv though, you can use better audio codecs like AAC.
*Which can be downloaded straight from the Nero Digital site.
Also, as far as MKV goes, Vorbis is another option. I'd go for oggdropXPd, specifically the aoTuV branch. You can find that at Rarewares.
Whatever you do, though, neither of those should go in AVI. Yes, there are programs that can do that, but it's an even worse idea than VBR MP3 files in AVI are.

Well, like I said, I need a dl(s) for VDubMod (audio compression part,) so I'll assume oggdropXPd and Nero AAC encoder is usable as an audio compressor in VDubMod?Qyot27 wrote:I use iTunes. No. VdubMod is for avi. Although it has some broken support for other containers, its just for avi.

meGUI and Zarxrax's zarxgui (from the new amvapp) are both decent choices.uchihaclan13 wrote:So then what programs encodes into mp4? Vegas? (assuming mp4 is more popular than mkv)
