Zarx264gui 1.3
As of december 9th, this is no longer a beta, so I don't need help testing it anymore. Of course, if you do encounter any problems, please let me know.
I've been working on a major update to Zarx264gui, and I'll need people to test it for bugs, as there are a large number of things that I could have screwed up.
You can get the latest 1.3 beta from here: http://amvhell.com/stuff/zarx264gui/
The main difference with this build, is that the input video is piped through avs2yuv, and if you have a 64bit OS, it should use a 64-bit version of x264. Whether you have a 32bit or 64bit system, I need your help testing this.
The 64bit version should be slightly faster (I saw a 4-5% increase on my system), but the main advantage of this build is in memory usage. In the old version, both x264 and avisynth had to share a single 2gb pool of memory. When encoding at HD resolutions, this could easily lead to out of memory errors.
If you are using a 64bit system and want to test the speed difference between the 32bit version, I have also included an old version of Zarx264gui in the package which will let you test 32bit performance.
Let me know of any bugs or unexpected results!

Re: Zarx264gui 1.3beta (need testers)
WOW! The gui looks THAT ugly on your system? I thought I had finally found a color scheme that looked correct on all systems but I guess not
About not getting a file... I don't know what the problem is, this is something that has been happening since the very beginning. For the past half a year or so people stopped complaining about this problem, so I figured it was all fixed. But now you guys start complaining again that it doesn't output your file ><
I've never pesonally experienced the problem, and people usually tell me later "oh, it started working, don't worry about it", so I never get to the bottom of whats wrong

Re: Zarx264gui 1.3beta (need testers)
I tried it with my amv (720p version):
http://www.animemusicvideos.org/members ... p?v=171269
My settings:
(default advanced settings)
Constant Quality 20
Very Slow
Grain
It took me: ~1:15 hours to encode with 2,6Ghz Dual Core and 4GB DDR2 (Windows 7 Ultimate x64)
195MB encode
which is good if you ask me. It looks better than my old 235MB encode (I guess it was also a constant quality encode with some changes in advance settings). It is noticeable how the encode got way better in grainy parts. The noisy/grainy parts look really sharp and definatly improved Some parts looked equaly good or maybe even better.
The audio encode was in my opinion with ~1:30 (for 128kbps) for a ~5minute long video too slow. I saw way faster encodes some years ago on my 3.0Ghz single core machine. Anyway... this isn't really relevant in amv dimensions though...

Re: Zarx264gui 1.3beta (need testers)
I updated it (version number didn't change) with a few bug fixes. I think I've fixed the problem with mp4 files sometimes not being made.

Re: Zarx264gui 1.3beta (need testers)
I still have two bugs with current beta:
It shows a comma where there should be a dot in the command line (fps 29,97...):
The gui shows a message box containing: "x264[error]: an invalid argument: fps=29,97[...]" and closes.
and the following bug still seems to be present in the current version:

or beta3 is still not online, I'm a bit confused the change log says that the color scheme was changed in beta2 but the title bar does not show any version number.fixed a bug where psy-rdo settings were disabled when using the "slow" preset.
