connecting laptop to tv

Yah I'm sorta new to computers and I know you need a video card to connect a desktop computer to the tv but is it the sam for a laptop? If it is or not, Can anybody tell me a good video card (or other) that is suitable for a laptop?

Fist off, what kind of laptop do you have? It may have an S-Video out connector on it, as some Dells do. If it doesn't it may have an RGB analog out(typical monitor 15 pin jack) on it. If that is the case, you can pick up a little box that converts to your TV here.

I do not have have S- Video out connector or a RGB analog out. So what options do I have left now?

You can't upgrade anything in a laptop. Except for maybe the hard drive or the ram.

The video card is not upgradable. If your laptop does not have a S-Video or VGA port, you're out of luck.

You may want to check to see if your laptop has a "port replicator" or a "docking bay" available for purchase. Sometimes these have VGA out or s-video on them.

How about using the usb port? I mean I've heard that you can connect though usb to a little box that has a s-video out that can connect to the vcr-thus tv. Has anyone heard of that?

You could use Dazzle. They have a USB video capture system...

You could probably do 180x180 resolution @ 60fps

You see, tho he wants to go in reverse :O

Dazzle works on input only. Since Dazzle has hardware inside it that compresses the video in realtime first then sends it over the USB.

I don't know of anything that does the reverse and if there was it would slow your computer down immensely.
