Sub for DV-500 capture device

Post by tbritt » Tue Mar 09, 2004 10:15 pm

Help! I was ready to buy a pinnacle DV-500+ but it seems to be discontinued, is there anything out there as good in the same price range? Looked at hardware review section but no comments on newer devices.

What are you going to be using the capture card for. The DV500 is a little spendy for what you get. I would just look in to getting a typical DV capture card or a DV bridge device for getting analog video onto your computer...

If you already have a good video editing software and don't need the software delivered with the DV500, get a Canopus ADVC-300

The Quality is excellent even without any of the hardware filters activated. And the hardware filters (Noise Reduction, Edge Enhancement, ...) are really great.

I think the price should be at DV500-Level, but the ADVC-300 is the DV-Bridge only while the DV500 comes with a really big software package.
