network smart capture?

I have this program on my compt, yet i'm not sure If i can use it for capturing vid. for amv purposes, I'm kinda lost with it really. I was reading the 'help' info on it, i got this:

(so is this program only for 'handycam' work?

Network Smart Capture is software for capturing still and moving pictures using a Handycam connected to a computer, or the Motion Eye camera built into VAIO computers. This software allows you to view the photos you capture and send them to various destinations.
Capture
This allows you to capture still images or movies. The software's 'Web camera' function allows you to automatically capture images at preset times.
View
Captured still images and movies are displayed in a list, where you can view them at any time.
Send
This allows you to send the still images and movies that you capture to friends as e-mail attachments or transfer them to ImageStation or your web site. You can also use the Web camera function to upload the images you capture automatically.
