Getting around VOB sizes: alternatives to a new hard drive?

I bought a 25 disc spindle of Memorex DVD+RW for 30 bucks about four months ago... It is much cheaper now.... you just have to look around for the deals.

my shop has a 7.5 terabyte server at work and here you guys are talking about 80gb hard drives. I wish we could fit all of our uncompressed RGB footage in that small a space.

Is this sticky still necessary when HDD prices have dropped to below 5 cents/GB?
