Alright, here is the problem....
When I log into my account, the screen goes completly black for a split second, and then comes back and continues loading the desktop and everything is fine. But then....
When I'm doing something(it usually happens when I have multiple programs running), the screen goes completly black, any music that I have on stops playing, and it seems like everything just dies, except that my computer is still running and there is no sign of it doing anything or it restarting.
It's an
Intel Pentium IV 3.00Ghz
512 Ram
Radeon 9200 128MB 8x Agp Graphics card
everything was working perfectly for the past year, but now I don't know what the hell is wrong.
Here are a few things that I have tried.
-Virus Scan
-Checking to see if moniter cable was secure
-Checking to see if graphics card was secure
-Windows System Restore
Has anyone else experienced something like this? Could it be a problem with my graphics card? Can anyone help me? Those are the questions of the day.
-Thanks

Might be a weak power supply, they can do some wierd things., not enough power for the video card. You could try a different video card if you can borrow one, could be a bad card.
Where did you say I'm going?.... And what am I doing in a handbasket?

hmm... you might be right oldrench! There might not be enough power going to the power supply. Cause as I said before, this usually happens when I'm playing music and stuff, and it happens that I have 8 speakers + 1 subwoofer as my computer sound system. Not to mention a 19 inch CRT being power off of the same power supply Thanks for the tip, i'll try rewirering my setup somehow. Oh amd Scintilla, the side panel has been open the whole time, so there is not much I can do about that, lol

Just throwing out possibilties, but you could have bad memory. http://www.memtest86.com/
I really suspect that you have power supply issues. How old is the power supply in your computer case and what is it's rated wattage? Unless it is a small form factor computer, most decent modern computers should have at least a 250 watt power supply (300 is a bare minimum, imo).

Well, I checked the memory and that wasn't the problem. And the power supply is fairly new and has a total output of 450W so that shouldn't be an issue either. Anyways, I tried rewiring my sound system and that seems to have fixed the problem for now. Thanks for all your help guys.
