Kumatora, thank you again for replying, I feel as though I’m gradually getting a picture of DVD ripping.
I’ve just downloaded AMV APP (DVD Decryptor and VirtualDub Mod) and trying to follow JaddziaDax tutorial. I was pleased to see the subtitles disappeared without me having to do any thing but the clock is STILL there. Is there any thing I have to do on DVD Decryptor to make the clock disappear before ripping the DVD or when I import the VOB file in to VirtualDub Mod, is that where I can removed the clock?
After reading the link you provided me Kumatora I think that my DVDs might be a ‘bootleg’ since it’s got Chinese subtitles on it and the subtitles are just absolutely appalling in English. But the cover looks very genuine the back which has the description of the story, cast and staff is all in Japanese and the discs looks extremely genuine. On the front it says it is ‘TV Series Box set’ on both series but another reason it might be a ‘bootleg’ copy is that I’m sure it works on all Region, although I can’t find that on the back cover I remember seeing that on the ebay description.

I guess there’s no way to decode anything that’s been ecoded?
I suppose I’ll have to buy an official copy of Maria-sama ga Miteru ~Hara~ off the Japanese Amazon. You wouldn’t happen to know of any other websites apart from Japan Amazon which sells official copies from Japan? (I can’t speak or read a word of Japanese.)

I've had moderate success with these two companies. CDJapan are very bad about telling ou they have a product in stock...then three weeks later mentioning that it is backordered...then three weeks later mentioning that it wasn't in print to begin with. All the while their site still cheerily tells you "IN STOCK NOW!"

Re: Maria-sama ga Miteru DVDs and Magic DVD Ripper
You've been had. Twice. As I'm sure you're now aware, but just in case other people are paying attention in this thread, I want to stress:Kanina-Hecate wrote: I recently purchased a copy of Magic DVD Ripper to rip the footage from my Maria-sama ga Miteru DVDs
YOU SHOULD NEVER HAVE TO PURCHASE A DVD RIPPING PROGRAM!
The two options I recommend, DVD Decryptor and MacTheRipper, are free (as in no-cost) downloads.

So much fail in this thread.
Especially good was this gem:

Here's a tip - About 90% of the anime found on eBay are fansub (or other)bootlegs. This is also true of many non-anime movies and TV shows as well. Until ebay begins working more with law enforcement and non-USPS shippers (FedEx, UPS, DHL) this kind of thing will continue. - I mention USPS as an exception because if you recieve a bootleg from ebay and it's mailed through the U.S. post office it constitutes federal mail fraud, a fellony. If a properly mannaged sting was put in place, i'd bet you'd see several hundred people facing serious jail time and fines so high they'd make big-tobbaco lawsuits look like pocket change.I was sure that my copy was genuine since I bought it on ebay

Thank you again everyone for applying!
Badmartialarts, thank you so much for the links! That is REALLY irritating that the sellers won’t tell you if it’s in stock or not. Dose that mean if I buy a DVD which is not in stock but they’ve not told me, will they get my money and will I not receive anything?
Kionon, my problems with AMV making seem to be mounting up, I thought originally before I had all the Magic DVD Ripping fiasco that I would have to buy a ripping program. I did hear of DVD Decryptor but I didn’t think it was a free product and (stupidly) I didn’t look it up nor did I research ripping programs on this site. I bought Magic DVD Ripping because it had a free trial, the quality looked good and it was easy to use. Now that I’ve seen DVD Decryptor in action, I’m just annoyed with myself for not researching ripping programs before I bought Magic DVD Ripper.
BasharOfTheAges, you’re right it was a gem in STUPIDITY, I’ve been so naive.
I suppose the good thing from this is I’ll (be hopefully) able to spot a bootleg DVD, never buy an Anime DVD from ebay and I’ve got a better ripping program now. I really hope that for other people ebay will pull its socks up.
