Help: Importing VOB file to PowerDirector3
I'm using Howl's Moving Castle for my next video, and am using PowerDirector 3 to make it.
I am aware that since the Howl's Moving Castle dvd has a lot of protection, problems may occur with decrypting and ripping. However, using DVD Decrypter from the AMVapp, I was able to import some of the VOB files where the actual movie is located.
I decrypted VOB 1 through 6 and have sucessfully imported VOB 2 through 6 onto PowerDirector, ready for use. But it's the first VOB that I've been having consistent problems (to be exact, VOB_7_1).
If anyone has used this program and/or anime and can offer some help, I would greatly appreciate it. And any other advice is welcomed.

Whenever I try to import that first VOB file, the PowerDirector program either freezes up or says that there was an error. None of these problems occurred with the other 5 VOB files, which leads me to believe something is wrong with the clip itself.
As for the "ripit4me" program, where can it be downloaded (or does it have to be purchased)? I know it's possible to use that dvd, but I'm just having some problems that I couldn't solve on my own.
Thanks for the response

- Location: In ur DVD's ripping ur footage
I have had similar problems when trying to rip newer anime/dvds, tends to happen mostly with movies rather than series. It wont copy the first VOB file but it will copy the remaining ones, problem is the ones it does rip are still messed up and crash DGindex.rb42 wrote:Whenever I try to import that first VOB file, the PowerDirector program either freezes up or says that there was an error. The program JaddziaDax mentioned should do the trick, its designed specifically to circumvent the new coppy protection some dvds have.

I downloaded RipIt4Me, DVD Decrypter (which I already had) and DVD Shrink. But I honestly have little knowledge in how to use them properly, with the exception of simply ripping dvd footage using DVD Decrypter.
I used DVD Decrypter to rip footage from another dvd (the Escaflowne Movie) and was able to use that footage perfectly well, using the same steps that I tried to with Howl's Moving Castle. So I'm stumped.
And I tried using DVD Shrink to "Back Up" the dvd since that was all I knew how to do since this is my first time using this program. Then, while backing up the dvd, this message appeared:
DVD Shrink encountered an error and cannot continue.
Failed to read file "E:\"
Data error (cyclic redundancy check).
So now I really have no idea what to do. It would be helpful if someone could tell me how to use these programs properly. Thanks.
