I pretty sure the topic must have been brought up before, but as I am getting more inclined to buy some of the aniem in Blu-Ray, who has ripped and worked with with it (as I've not looked into this yet myself)0?

Re: Blu Ray Disc Ripping
I haven't tried to do it either (namely lack of a Blu-ray drive and Blu-ray discs themselves), but there are some examples already:
http://www.animemusicvideos.org/members ... p?v=151845
http://www.animemusicvideos.org/forum/v ... =3&t=90858
http://www.animemusicvideos.org/forum/v ... 0#p1163850
And the corresponding thread (which has to do with 1080p AMVs):
http://www.animemusicvideos.org/forum/v ... =2&t=89941
Neither of the times I've experimented with HD did I use Blu-ray source, and even then, what I've done is only 720p.
(and wow, is there some magic going on that eliminates the start of any forum address?)

Re: Blu Ray Disc Ripping
For my Persepolis video I used the built-in ripper in AnyDVD HD to get the files to my hard disk and then DGAVCDec for decoding. If the content is MPEG-2 you should be able to use DGMPGDec normally. If it's VC-1 encoded you may have to fiddle with GraphEdit and DirectShowSource (I don't know if this has changed since I last looked). Unfortunately you can pretty much forget direct AVS editing with Blu-ray.

Well, there is DGVC1DecNV, although it's pretty bleeding edge at this point (and requires the NVidia cards deal):Janzki wrote:For my Persepolis video I used the built-in ripper in AnyDVD HD to get the files to my hard disk and then DGAVCDec for decoding. I would think that as long as ffmpeg can handle the video streams (it can handle VC1, but whether some of the special features, if there are any, utilized for VC1 on Blu-ray are supported, I dunno), that FFmpegSource could be used on them. But perhaps not.
