I need a good Blu Ray ripper.

I'm trying to get back into making music videos and editing but i need good dvd/blu ray ripping software. Does anyone have any suggestions? I'm grateful for any suggestions.

Is there a special type of disc drive i need or will any blu ray drive work?

I believe that any blu ray reader should be able to work whether or not it has write capabilities. But If you want to make a copy of a disc, then you'd specifically need one that can write.
