Can I borrow your VHD:Bloodlust VOB files?

Yeah, um, my DVD has decided that it does not like to be repeatedly attacked by DVDecrypter and won't let me take the last 30 minutes or so of VHD: Bloodlust (even though I managed it once or twice before, with low-quality results that had to be trashed).

I have the VOB 1-3 files, but cannot aquire 4 and 5. Don't know if it's possible, or anything else, but if anyone out there has these and would let me "borrow" them for awhile so I can at least get the last few clips I need for my AMV I would be EXTREMELY grateful. I have a cable modem, so technically transferring 1.7 GB or so will isn't totally out of the question as long as whoever's on the other end is equitably wired.

I have jumped through 500 hoops so far trying to get these files any other way, and it's just not happening - and I am not going to spend $30 for another DVD! Thankee!

I don't think anyone will just give you footage...

And I don't like DVD Decrypter... I've been using Smart Ripper for quite some time now and had no problems.. So, I would suggest that you use Smart Ripper instead!

Yeah, I highly doubt it too, but I figured I'd ask anyways... yeesh, it's not like I'm asking for something I haven't already paid for!! I own the DVD, which works fine, EXCEPT when I'm trying to rip those last two VOBs.

I've tried other decrypters, apparently my DVD is damaged or something...

HEY!! I am very careful with all my discs, never had one die on me yet, or get messed up, and I've got some old, heavily-used stuff, let me assure you! This one is BRAND NEW, which is one reason I'm so ticked off... hmm...

I know... I should *somehow* find a place to rent the movie and swap the discs... mine plays fine in a DVD player, it just doesn't let me rip part of it...

that's part of the problem, though, no one around here HAS it for rent...

There's nothing wrong with the DVD-ROM or with the DVD disc. It's the authoring method used to publish the DVD. I had a similar problem (more or less exactly) with my Street Fighter Alpha DVD.

The best fool proof solution I could give you is to use DoItFast from http://members.cox.net/doitfast4u/

I suggest you install Guardian Knot from http://www.doom9.org while you're at it, since it requires DVD Decrypter, Avisynth, etc.

Just start the program, choose what you're going to extract, and wait till it finishes. After everything is done you'll end up with a DVD2AVI project file and an .AVS file. Use virtualdub to get whatever clip you need using the AVS file and that's it.
If you try to extract directly from the Mpeg2 stream you'll likely end up "missing" video like before, so use the avisynth .avs file instead.

DoItFast? I'll try it, but I doubt very much it will have any more success than the rest did.

I can't return the bloody thing - what am I supposed to say - "I can't rip this DVD, thus breaking copyright laws, can I have a replacement? It's fine, otherwise."

But in any case, I've arranged to borrow someone else's DVD, so if all goes well (that's kind of funny in a sick-sad way) I should be all set now.
