Capturing from Cassettes
How would I go about capturing the sound from tape cassettes? Would it be possible to use the video capturer?

The only way I've ever considered to capture from cassette(or record) is running the audio outputs into your computer or capture device. There are a few recordable CD players out there you could use, then put the CD in your computer.
I hink I have seen a computer accessory to play/record from cassettes, but that was years ago, so don't quote me on it.

Media Studio Pro has an audio editor. I just hook up my walkman through the line in and record. Both Media and Video Studio can do the same in the edit mode by using the record narration feature.
The basic key is you need a program that will record sound from the line in of the sound card and save it as an audio file.
Theoretically, I guess you could hook up the RCA sound to the capture device and then just capture the video. Doesn't matter what video in this case. To get purely the sound, you'll then need to split the audio from the video and save the audio file.
