ok well, your question is quite vague. There are many ways to "capture" clips from a DVD, but the easiest and best way is to ripp the entire DVD to your harddrive, then use the captured media to create your AMV (if thats what you use it for) A DVD can be ripped using a program such as Smartripper or Allinone or even superDVD ripper. I reccomend Smartripper, its powerful, option ridden, and free! http://www.afterdawn.com/software/video ... ripper.cfm you can thn convert it to .avi or some other format using DivX codecs, or huffyuv. As for the actual clips, if you have the DVD captured already, using a program such as vegas4 or adobe premier seems to be the mean. Im afraid thats all i gave give you without knowing what software you have and what you need it for (if not for AMV's).

You need to install an aspi layer if you use dvddecryptor - the guides tell where to get the programs for this (on the 'member main' page, the 'all things audio and video guide'). I didn't think you needed to do that with smartripper, but if you're getting the same aspi layer, it sounds like you do. In that case - check the guides, install your aspi layer like they say, and use dvddecrpytor - I hear less questions (problems) about that one.
