Getting opening and ending videos of PS2 disc Kingdom Hearts

Post by andpandpudpie » Sat Jan 21, 2006 6:35 am

My registered version of Nova Software Extractor Quits after reading 1098 MB of a possible 2632 MB of the ISO files ripped from my new PS2 game Kingdom Hearts, it's the first time i've used the extractor software and wondering if some settings are wrong or maybe there's something i'm not doing ?? any help out there for me ??? The FMV's are the opening and ending movies of the game

There's a huge thread on PS2 FMVs right above this thread. May I assume you're looking it over?

I'm trying to use the step by step guide that Caster Troy has been so kind enough to supply us all with. I've downloaded all the software but just having some teething troubles extracting the PSS files from my ISO files. I'm reading the threads and hopefully will read about an alternative program or a solution to help me get my extractor program working properly.

Thanks for your reply if there's anything else you can suggest or know about please let me know.

Many Thanks and Regards

I've only ever ripped Fatal Frame 2 using that guide and I didn't have much problems. But there may still be some games the gudie doesn't work for?

Maybe try another game. See if it's an isolated problem for just that game or if you are doing something wrong.

Square used really weird disguising practices on Kingdom Hearts. The guide doesn't work for it. It never comes up with PSS files, only a huge SWF file, which makes absolutely no sense to me, as I didn't know the PlayStation 2 supported Flash. I'm thinking it's a completely different type of file with the same extension, or Nova's just messed up with it's identification of what's really there.

About the only ways you can get the cutscenes from Kingdom Hearts are either 1) capture through a video card or 2) perform some really advanced hex editing. I would not know how to do either one, so don't ask. The only reason I know this much is that my sister wanted me to try to get the cutscenes off the disc. I hate Kingdom Hearts myself.
