2 questions/problems
these are with the hellsing dvds 1-4
first: when i try to play the 3rd dvd for some reason it wants to freeze my computer till i eject the dvd. the other 3 work, the dvd is clean and scratch free what would be the problem with this dvd?
... side note it happends with my chobits dvds too... so far they are the only ones i have this problem with.
would buying a new cd drive fix this?
has anyone else had this problem?
last: with the hellsing disk 4 vob 4-2 when i use virtualdubmod right before i reach the end of the saving prosses (like 1-5 seconds before) the program will shut down... just from saving to nothing there in a matter of a nanosecond (the program dissapperes). i was able to save everyother vob to avi except this one. what is the problem?
how can i fix this?
anyone else had this problem aswell?
please help me out, and thank you for any help you can give.

Is this while ripping? Or by playing do you mean you just want to watch the DVDs?theswarm666x wrote:these are with the hellsing dvds 1-4

You're opening VOBs in Virtual Dub? If that's what you're doing, you shouldn't be. You should be indexing via DGIndex, and using the resulting AVS file to do much of your pre-processing, and then sticking the AVS file into VDub to make lossless clips. VOBs can be notoriously unstable by themselves in VDub.

no, i am putting them through dgiindex first then oppening the avs file with the script (which worked with all other ones) in vdub. You're opening VOBs in Virtual Dub? while your buming this topic, why don't you try answering willens previous question first. Because for all we know, willens explanation might be the correct one and there may not be a thing anyone can do for you.
I don't know what editting program you use (if any), but providing you do have one, you could always just try using your editting program to convert your vob file to avi format. I know adobe premiere can do this. And I'm sure other editting programs are capable of importing mpeg2/m2v files as well.

Hi, i'll try and help if i can.
First question: does these discs work in your DVD player?
2nd: What are the specs for your computer? What are the specs (brand Name, Model Number etc) for your DVD Burner/drive. is it a Laptop or Desktop?
Well to cut the long story short i suggest if you can play the DVD on your DVD Player, then your DVD drive has some sort of a problem and i would get one right away preferably a SONY or LG brand, but if you cant get them to play on the DVD player then the discs must have a fault somewhere (bad file on disc..). If this is the case where it neither works on both PC or the DVD player i would advise you to return the faulty discs to the place where you got it from and ask for an exchange. Did you know that 5% of DVD's, Games, etc are faulty. You're probably the unlucky one. Well anyways dont waste to much time holding on to those discs as many stores only offer a 7 to 14 day exchange policy.
(P.S. Some stores say they dont give a exchange or refund on all opened products, but if you tell them its illegal, i think they'll reconsider.)
well good luck

just watching it on the computer. i can't even get near the ripping prosses, yet.
By the way, if you just planning on watching it on the computer there are programs that will let you do this. An example of this is: Nero, PowerDVD etc. You dont need programs like Virtual Dub, AviSynth, DV2AVI etc (unless you want to do some editing,converting,de-interlacing and all that) for just watching DVD's
