programs for making an AMV

A few weeks ago i decided to make an AMV Planed it out and got to the stage of capturing and found out that the program was new about 100 years ago and cant capture off a DVD. I have tried cracking the code But it still wouldnt read it. Somebody please help!!

If anyone has a decent way of capturing footage PLEASE REPLY to chobit fan at wildmage89@hotmail.com :) :) :( :x :evil:
