DVD Rip & DVD question

Post by The Wired Knight » Thu Mar 02, 2006 3:57 pm

Ok two questions here.

1. Does anybody know a good site to buy Japanese (R2) Anime DVDs? I need Yakitate Japan for my next video, well only a short clip, but I need the DVDs and I can't find a site that sells the blasted things (or at least not a site in english, all the sites I found are in Japanese and use FAR more Kanji than I can read).

2. Does your typical DVD ripping program rip R2s just as well as R1s? I'm currently using Smart Ripper and thus far I've only ripped R1 DVDs but there' sno point of me going out of my way to buy an R2 DVD if it won't rip it.

Thanks.

What can I say? The Japanese know how to anally rape a person's wallet. I mean, if Lord Of The Rings movie tickets were $35 a piece over there (heck, even if that was the combined price for less that four people), I wouldn't expect the DVDs to be any different. I paid 72 bucks for the Eva Renewal movies, but on the upside, they look absolutely gorgeous. 18 of that was shipping, though. The series discs are about the same price as Platinum is here in the States, but the shipping cost would raise it. Thankfully CDJapan calculates shipping by weight, not by the number of items (I hate you, Columbia House  ).
