ok, I'm about to give up, but maybe someone will see this whos had the same problems.
I've spent a couple weeks now getting the video footage off the Xenosaga games (I'd never done this stuff before), and I made it to the 3rd disk... I own the disk, nothing illigal going on here... but apparently the videos are protected somehow. I can rip them and turn them into m2v files and view them in my PowerDVD player, but I cant seem to find any program that will turn them to AVIs
all except 3, which are clips from other movies.
Has anyone had experience with these disks and maybe know how to bypass this security? I've been googling and lookin around. cant seem to find anything

Xenosaga 3? For whatever reason, the video streams gets very glitchy while the original audio stream is still joined. With that said, I hope you were finally able to download either pss plex or pss demux from http://www.zophar.net/utilities/ps2util.html
Use it to split each fmv into an m2v stream and a wav stream. Once you do that, you should be able to drag the m2v streams directly into virtual dub and convert them as normal. I was able to convert every fmv in the game using this method.
